Description
ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN-Multiple positions will be available from this announcement. The incumbents shall serve as Accounting Technicians within the Department of the Treasury's Office of Technical Assistance. Incumbents shall perform accounting functions and other financial related analysis to assist the Financial Manager in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of official accounting records and reports for projects and activities in the office. Solid background in account reconciliation practices mandatory. Experience with the Federal Travel Regulations and FFS (Federal Financial System) and/or the NFC (National Finance Center) payroll database required. Salary range from $23,304-$37,522 per year. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the daily updating of all contractor worksheets and code sheets, responsible for the file maintenance, perform data entry in the official and internal accounting systems, perform special research projects concerning financial and accounting aspects of program activities and act as back-up for payroll/time and attendance specialist. Supervision and Guidance Received: Reports to the Deputy Director of the Office of Technical Assistance, who provides very general supervision. Receives specific tasks and assignments from the Financial Manager and is responsible for planning best methods of providing requested information. Work in progress is periodically reviewed and completed work is reviewed for accuracy and conformance to policy. Incumbents will be expected to work independently, as well as coordinating with the rest of the Finance Office on group projects. Qualifications: These positions require knowledge of "FFS" Treasury accounting system, knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations or payroll experience, minimum two years of accounting or financial-related experience, computer experience-spreadsheet and word processing software (EXCEL and ACCESS) mandatory.
