Description

The Government is planning the re-engining of the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) aircraft through an operating lease and procurement arrangement. An initial CBD was issued on February 17, 2000 to announce the conduct of a Pre-Bidder's Conference, which was held on March 9, 2000. Since conducting the aforementioned Pre-Bidder's Conference, several changes have taken place. In order to address these changes, a revised draft RFQ is being prepared. The revised draft RFQ will be released for industry review during a Joint STARS Re-engining Industry Day to be held at Northrop Grumman's Melbourne, Florida facility on October 25, 2000. Additionally, Northrop Grumman will review significant changes that have occurred since the Pre-bidders conference. All prospective suppliers are invited to attend this Industry briefing. It will represent the first forum in which Northrop Grumman will apprise Industry of the current approach to the Re-engining effort. It will also serve as a forum for open discussion and recommendations.
