- 2KW AC & DC GENERATOR SETS (RAYMOND_P_MIDURA@BELVOIR.ARMY.MIL)
- Description
- This is a market survey seeking sources that have the capability to provide the following: A 2Kilowatt(kW),1.0 Power Factor (PF), 120 Volts(V), 1 Phase(1-o),60-Herts(Hz) Alternating Current(AC), Diesel Fueled Electric Power Generation System. A 2Kilowatt(kW), 28 Volts (V) Direct Current (DC), Diesel Fueled Electric Power Generation System. Information is solicited from manufacturing sources regarding their capability to manufacture the current DOD 2kW Military Tactical Generator (MTG) sets using Government furnished drawings or provide mature commercial design sets meeting the following requirements: Mobile Electric Power (MEP) 2kW/120 VAC version and 2kW/28 VDC version. Generator set requirements are to be met with a diesel-fueled engine, generator, and all normal operating controls and protective devices. The equipment must provide full rated power over the full range of military ambient operating conditions (-25oF to +120oF), including 4,000 feet and 95oF. The output frequency of the 2kW AC set is 60-Hz. Voltage connection for the AC set is 120VAC, 1-o, and 28VDC for the DC set. The audio noise sound pressure level (SPL) for these sets is 79dB(A) at 7 meters. The sets shall also have a 24-volt starter system along with a 24-volt standard NATO slave receptacle. The 2kW AC set weight is 158 pounds and the 2kW DC set weight is 138 pounds, including a full tank of fuel. Each set shall also have a manual starting system. The sets shall be storable at any possible humidity (0 to 100%) from -65F to + 160F and in a salt-fog environment. Each set shall include an onboard fuel tank capable of supporting 4.8 hours of continuous operation at rated load and also have the capability of operating from an external fuel source. The set shall be operable when sited in any direction on uneven terrain with grades up to 15o. The set shall provide automatic shutdown due to low oil pressure, and the set circuit breaker shall activate at short circuit and overload (>110%RL)conditions prior to engine stall. The sets shall meet standard military Electo-Magnetic Interference(EMI)requirements. The minimum reliability of the set shall be 350 hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). The sets must also be marine, rail, highway and air transportable. The set dimensions shall not exceed a length of 29.5 inches, a width of 16.0 inches, and a height of 21.8 inches. The Government will not pay for information submitted. All proprietary and restricted information shall be clearly marked. Estimated quantity is 7,000 sets from calendar year 2001 through 2011 with a delivery rate of approximately 200 sets a month. It is requested that specific product literature, technical information as well as organization profile, be supplied not later than 31 October 2000 to: Project Manager-Mobile Electric Power, Suite 105, 10205 Burbeck Road, Attn: AMSEL-DSA-MEP-T (Ray Midura), Fort Belvoir, VA. 22060-5863.
