Description
Solicitation 3FNO-M1-990001-B covering Federal Supply Schedule 71, Part I, for Office Furniture is hereby canceled and replaced by solicitation 3FNO-M1-001234-B. This procurement is a multiple award schedule for use by the entire federal government worldwide. There are approximately 500 contractors currently on this schedule. Some of the changes made to the solicitation are: I-FSS-163 Option to Extend the Term of the Contract (Evergreen): This clause will allow the government to have three (3) five (5) year options to your contract, for a total of twenty years if performance is satisfactory. There will be many measures of satisfactory performance, such as adequate sales, quality performance, and timely IFF payments, so the options are in no way guaranteed. One of the most important evaluative factors will be participation in the GSA Advantage!_ program. None of the Evergreen options will be exercised unless your firm has posted its contract information to the GSA Advantage!_ website. Effective October 1, 2000, all offers received will have 6 months after award of a Federal Supply Schedule contract to submit their electronic catalog to GSA Advantage!_ . All current contract holders have until July 1, 2001, to submit their electronic catalog to GSA Advantage!_. Contractors may now be represented as 8(a) contractors, providing SBA confirms that the offeror is indeed an eligible 8(a) contractor. These changes are intended to increase the teamwork that has led to greater customer satisfaction and use of the Federal Supply Schedules. There are mutual benefits for both the contractor and the government, and it is expected to increase revenues to those contractors who earn the right to be around for the entire twenty-year period. Contracting questions should be directed to the points of contact listed in the solicitation. Copies of the solicitation are available at www.fedbizopps.gov (under GSA, then location Federal Supply Service, then office National Furniture Center). Technical and testing questions should be directed to Jeff Schatz at 703-305-6338 or jeffery.schatz@gsa.gov. Questions may also be faxed to 703-305-6786.
