Description

The U. S. Customs Service intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Astronautics Corporation of America, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to procure general commercial avionics equipment for the P-3 AEW aircraft upgrade program. The Equipment is the Flight Management and Display System (FMDS) and will be delivered as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to the prime contractor. The equipment will be integrated with the existing electonic local navigation system, engine performance displays, automatic flight control system and dual inertial navigation system to achieve a common avionics configuration baseline as previously established by AEW #7 and #8. The contract will include technical support, manuals and additional equipment spares. This contract action is subject to the availability of funds. See Note 22.
