This is a request for a Standing Price Quote, a period of one year, for NSN 5120-00-378-4411, please see description below. The projected quantity for the year is 1379 each. This is NOT a guaranteed quantity figure, only a projection. The deliveries will be made to the warehouse facilities of GSA, Stockton, CA, Fort Worth, TX, Burlington, NJ, Palmetto, GA. Bar Code Marking is required. The following clauses will apply: 552.225-71 -- Notice of Procurement Restriction; D-FSS-475 -- Bar Code Marking of National Stock Number; 552.246-70 -- Source Inspection by Quality Approved Manufacturer; 52.247-34 -- Delivery is F.O.B. Quotes must be received by October 5, 2000. 5120-00-378-4411 UI: EA WRENCH, WHEEL STUD NUT, GEARED SOCKET: DESCRIPTION In accordance with GSA Drawing 5120-378-4411, Revision A, dated 05/01/70. 13/16 inch square socket and 1-1/2 inch hex socket. WORKMANSHIP Details of workmanship shall be in accordance with the best commercial standards and practices. Paints, coatings, platings, and finishes shall be smooth, dry, adherent, continuous, and not stained or discolored. Fasteners shall be firmly secured and show no evidence of deformation, cross threading, or hazardous burrs. Adhesives and lubricants adequate for their intended purpose shall be properly and neatly applied. Adhesives shall be adequately cured. Wires and cables shall be neatly dressed and shall not be frayed or in contact with sharp edges. Wire and cable insulation shall show no evidence of burns, abrading, or pinch marks. There shall be no interference, binding, or galling of parts. External and bearing surfaces shall be free of tool and gouge marks, nicks, or other surface imperfections. The item shall be clean and free of corrosion and debris (e.g., chips, shavings, slivers) or other foreign material. The item shall be free from manufacturing workmanship defects (e.g., loose, missing, binding or misaligned parts, sharp or rough external edges, corners or surfaces) and material workmanship defects (e.g., pits, rips, fins, burrs, tears, nodules, cracks, blisters) which may adversely impact the item's serviceability, durability, safety, or appearance. ITEM MARKING Each item (including all items within a set or kit) shall be marked with the manufacturer's name and identifying symbol, and the state or country of manufacture, unless otherwise specified. All marking shall be engraved, etched, molded, or indented. PACKAGING One (1) item shall be preserved and packaged in a unit package designed to protect the item against damage during shipment, handling, and storage. PACKING The unit packages shall be packed in a close fitting fiberboard box, grade 200 minimum. The complete pack shall be in compliance with the Uniform Freight Classification and the National Motor Freight Classification. MARKING All unit, intermediate, transport packages and unit loads shall be marked and bar coded for delivery to civilian activities in accordance with FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997, or marked and bar coded for delivery to military activities in accordance with MIL-STD-129N, dated 15 May 1997, as applicable. PALLETIZATION Pallet Sizes: Unless otherwise specified, the pallets shall be 48" X 40" or 40" X 48" in length and width. Exceptions such as 48" X 48" will be used only with the concurrence of the Office of Distribution Management (FS). Pallet Type Options: Unless otherwise specified, the pallets shall be one of the following two options: 1. PPP-P-1660A, Type I, Type IA, Type II, or Type III. The following designs are acceptable: Style 2 and 7, Class B or C, Grade 2, Sizes 40" x 48", 48" x 40", 4 way (block post) or partial 4 way entry (stinger), non-reversible. 2. ASME MH1.8M-1996, Wood Pallets, An American National Standard. Class 1 and 2, Category 2, Type 3, Style 2, Bottom Deck 1, Sizes 40" x 48" and 48" x 40" Pallet Load Size: The load plus the pallet shall have a maximum height of 53 inches and shall not exceed 2500 pounds in weight. Exceptions to this requirement shall have the concurrence of the Office of Distribution Management. Pallet Load Configuration: The containers or items shall be placed in a suitable pattern to form a stable and balanced load. Then vertical, horizontal, or filler reinforcement shall be added as necessary to provide the strength necessary to support three additional palletized loads. Stacking Strength: The pallet plus the load shall be capable of supporting three additional like loads without any product damage and without the load or the pallet collapsing. Palletized Load Stacking Test: The palletized load as presented for shipment shall be tested for stackability. The test load shall be placed on a rigid surface with three additional loads stacked on top for 24 hours. The tester has the option of simulating the three additional loads with a like pallet and weight equaling three like loads. Example: If the pallet load weighs 1000 pounds then 3000 pounds on a like pallet, shall be stacked on the test load for 24 hours. Test personnel shall be responsible to test in compliance with National and local safety regulations. Testing need not be repeated as long as the palletized load design and materials do not change. Partial Palletized Loads: Less than one-half pallet loads do not require testing. Shall not be used for stacking, unless load is balanced on pallet.
