Description

The National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health, intends to negotiate a three year contract with the Instituto Nazionale di Riposo e Cura degli Anziani (INRCA, National Research Institute) to conduct a follow-up examination of the InChianti Study cohort 3 years after its baseline assessment. The three year follow-up assessment shall be performed on all surviving members of the InChianti cohort. This follow-up will repeat the interview and examination components of the baseline assessment that are relevant to the goals of the follow-up. Participants shall be scheduled for their follow-up evaluation as close to the three year anniversary of their baseline assessment as possible. This follow-up evaluation will provide data on change in medical and functional status so that prospective analyses can be performed to evaluate the predictive power of variables measured at baseline. Statutory authority: 41 U.S.C. 253 ( c ) (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. The cited authority is applicable because of the uniqueness of the colony. See Numbered Note 22.*****
