Description

Notice of Intention to Issue Prospectus for continued operation of general stores and gift shops, photo processing, and food service for the visiting public within Yellowstone National Park. The existing concessioner operates 14 stores (the new contract will authorize 12) at developed areas throughout Yellowstone National Park. Services are seasonal, generally operated early May through September. One store at Mammoth is operated year round. The average visitation at Yellowstone is approximately 3 million. The annual gross receipts over the past three years averages approximately $22.8 million. The concessioner manages employee dormitories and food service for its employees in the park. Staffing averages 40 permanent and 746 seasonal employees. The existing concessioner Hamilton Stores, Inc. has operated as a satisfactory concessioner during the term of their contract. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that this is not a qualified concession contract, and therefore, no preferred offeror for this contract exists. Offerors must be received by close of business January 2, 2001, in the Business Resources Division, Intermountain Region (IMDE-CM), P.O. There will an administrative charge to recoup printing costs for this prospectus of $30 plus $5 mailing fee for each prospectus.
