Description

Contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to remove existing box culvert structure and design/install new box culvert structure; construct reinforced concrete Texas crossing; perform associated earthwork including removal of granular fill and placement of compacted clay fill; perform water control; and place riprap and filter fabric. The Contractor shall also be required to provide stoplogs and lifting hooks. Weather and water conditions may permit construction activities at the site as early as April, 2001. However, under normal conditions, construction activities cannot begin prior to May 15, 2001. The notice to proceed is expected to be issued on or about February 15, 2001, to allow time for submission and review of submittals and precast production prior to actual construction at the site. The period of performance is 180 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Davis-Bacon payrolls shall be required. Bid, payment and performance bonds are required. Bid bond -- 20% of bid price; payment and performance bonds -- 100% of contract amount. Liquidated damages of $50 per day will be included in the contract. This project is open to both large and small businesses under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The solicitation is expected to be issued on or about November 6, 2000.
