Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate sole source procurement with BioLog, Inc., 3938 Trust Way, Hayward CA 94545 for a MicroLog/Microstation System. Requirements of the systems: Species in the identification database must include environmental, marine, veterinary, agriculture and clinical organisms; Data management software must have self diagnostic capabilities. The software must also have the capability of performing cluster analysis and allow the user to build and search customized databases; Upon identification, the data management software must present the top choices (10) possible in the database and allow the user to compare other patterns in the database with the identification presented; The system must be fully compatible with personal computer technology; The MicroStation system must interface with the Biolog Inc. MicroPlate reader and automatically interpret the results and report identification. EPA believes that Biolog, Inc. is the only vendor capable of satisfying requirements stated above. No Solicitation is available. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required system should fully explain their capabilities in writing within 15 days of the date of this announcement. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any sources (s) exist and, therefore, no RFP is available. Consequently, any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be ignored.
