Description

MODIFICATION: This action was originally publicized in the CBD on June 28, 1999. The synopsis is revised to read as follows: The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) of 65 Marcus Drive, Melville, NY 11747 for the fabrication of five (5) AN/APQ-9B Lightweight Low-Rate-Initial Production (LRIP) units and one (1) Lightweight Engineering Change Kit (ECK). The award is to also include installation material. NGC is the original designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System. NGC has provided the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System to the Government under the original development, LRIP contract. Therefore, no other firm possesses the technical expertise required to perform the work that will be required by the Government. This new contract will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) "Only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Solicitation number was changed to N00024-00-R-5226. See Note(s) 22.
