Description

The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Director Program Analysis and Evaluation (PAE), is conducting a market survey to determine qualified computer hardware vendors or products capable of meeting the Marine Corps' need for a ruggedized computer to be operated in tactical tracked and wheeled vehicles. Specific desired performance characteristics at a minimum must include (1) Win32 environment, (2) Pentium II processor or greater, (3) 128 Mbs of RAM or greater, (4) demonstrated reliability so as to be suitable in military conditions, (5) standard IEEE 802.3 ethernet interface, and (6) human engineering factors that facilitate operation in a vehicle (i.e., touch screen display, large screen size, suitable keyboard and mouse, etc). The goal of this effort is to develop a hierarchical set of candidate systems; identify their associated risk constraints; and to examine such factors as affordability, maturity, commerciality, and other market considerations. Vendors of commercial products that meet the above minimum constraints to satisfy such a requirement are invited to submit their capabilities statement. The following materials must be included in the submission: Statement of capabilities; current GSA schedule contract information and pricing schedule or other contract means; and other matter directly addressing the products ability to meet the aforementioned needs (interested vendors must address all 6 minimum constraints).
