Description

Solicitation is a Request for Proposals and resultant contract will be a firm fixed price contract for machine planting approximately 506 acres of longleaf and 127 acres of loblolly pine seedlings with a small amount of hand planting pine and hardwood seedlings for the base period. Tha solicitation contains a base period for FY 2001 and two option periods for FY 2002 and FY 2003. Planting will be performed between December 1 and February 28 each year. Option Period I will have approximately 300 acres of longleaf and 40 acres of loblolly pine seedlings for machine planting with small amount of pine and hardwood hand planting. Option period II will have approximately 400 acres of longleaf and 40 acres of loblolly pine seedlings for machine planting with small amount of pine and hardwood hand planting. Evaluation factors will be: Ability to perform in accordance with specifications including demonstrated satisfactory experience in machine planting longleaf pine; ability to perform within established time frame; ability to maintain quality control over work-in-progress; and ability to meet other contract requirements. Land to be planted is located within the boundaries of the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site(SRS) near Aiken, SC, SRS is a restricted access Government facility and all persons entering SRS must be U.S. citizens.
