Description

The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, transportation, materials, and supervision necessary to provide mechanical site preparation services for about 155 acreage, located under the jurisdiction of the Clackamas River Ranger District, Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon. The work includes providing services for grapple piling of logging slash and the uprooting and piling live vegetative material with a "lift and pile" mechanism (grapple excavator) rather than a "push and pile" mechanism (tractor with blade). Work to be performed on slopes up to 30%. The objective is to creat planting sites, eliminate vegetative competition, and reduce the slash layer to a depth of 2 -- 6 inches. Period of contract performance is 11 months after receipt/acknowledgement of a Notice to Proceed. Solicitation package for this project will be available on or about October 23, 2000.
