- Description
- DESC: The Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP), Cherry Point, North Carolina has a requirement for technical data support services under solicitation number N00421-00-R-0500. Prospective offerors must be International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000 registered and ISO 9000 registration is ONLY required in ANSI-RAB (American version). Prospective offerors must obtain ISO 9001 (1994), ISO 9002 (1994), or ISO 9001 (2000) registration in accordance with ANSI-RAB accreditation requirements by the date upon which this solicitation closes (estimated at 5 December 2000) in order to be considered technically acceptable. The ISO 9000 registration requirement is in addition to all other requirements of the solicitation that must be met in order to be considered technically acceptable. A certificate of registration in accordance with the above criteria must be submitted with the offeror's proposal. The solicitation will not be extended for firms awaiting registration. This effort will be competed on a full and open basis. The requirements, which will be defined in a Performance Work Statement (PWS),involve Technical Data Support Services. More specifically, the Central Technical Publications Library (CTPL) provides customer services to the NADEP area command and for weapon systems assigned responsibility at Cherry Point, NC. The CTPL is made up of publication repository and the drawing repository. These functions are currently performed by a Government workforce supplemented by contractor support. A cost comparison will be conducted, under OMB Circular No. A-76, Commercial Activities Studies, to determine the source to perform the work. The Government is developing an in-house cost estimate and a contract may or may not be awarded as a result of this study/comparison. If a contractor is selected as the performing activity, an award will be made in accordance with OMB Circular No. A-76 in conjunction with all other applicable Government and Navy acquisition regulations. The solicitation will be issued on a fixed-price basis. The proposed contract will be for base year plus four one-year option periods. The anticipated date for the release of the solicitation is 31 October 2000. A site visit will be hosted on 18 November 2000 (Saturday) at the NADEP Cherry Point, North Carolina. Requests for copies of the solicitation must be submitted via e-mail to holmesl@navair.navy.mil. TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS MUST USE THE INTERNET TO RESPOND. All Internet responses must provide the return Internet address, mailing address, phone number, fax number, and single-point-of-contact within the body of the response. Internet responses without the aforementioned addresses/information will not be recognized. All responsible sources may download a copy of the solicitation, attend the site visit, and shall be considered by the agency unless this synopsis is amended or replaced. The solicitation will be available over the Internet in WORD 97TM format and will reside on the NAVAIR Home Page, located on the World Wide Web. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST AT THIS TIME. The Request for Proposals (RFP)/solicitation will not be released before the anticipated date of 31 October 2000. It is essential that you respond to this synopsis if you would like to be notified (i.e. electronically) when the RFP is released. A single email will be sent to all offerors who have requested to be notified when the RFP is released. Therefore, it is important that you re-send your request for notification should your email address change between the release of this synopsis and the release of the subject RFP.
