- ISSUE DATE: 11/01/00. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for interior renovations, Building 5300, USCG Air Station Cape Cod, Bourne, MA (Barnstable County). Building 5300 is currently a duplex house used for Coast Guard family housing. The purpose of the project is to convert the building from use as housing to office and meeting space for use by the USCG Auxiliary. Interior partition walls will be removed and reconstructed in new locations, a kitchen will be converted to a handicap accessible bathroom, an existing bathroom will also be converted to a handicap accessible bathroom, existing interior stairways will be removed and a new interior stairway constructed, carpeting and floor tile will be provided and installed, air conditioning will be added, all interior walls and ceilings will be painted and other related work performed. There is one (1) additive bid item to provide and install a wheelchair lift. Bids shall include all costs associated with providing and installing a wheelchair lift including, but not limited to, structural modifications, electrical work and the lift itself. Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000 dollars. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 11/01/00. The bid opening date is on or about 12/04/00. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this web site. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
