Description

The Bureau of Reclamation will issue a Commercial Item solicitation in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12, utilizing Part 15, for Rental/Lease of Heavy Equipment. The contract will be an indefinite quantity with a base year and four one year options, not to exceed 5 years. Split awards may be made. The equipment will be used periodically, depending on weather, spring runoff, and work area conditions for work located on the Provo River between Jordanelle Dam and Deer Creek Reservoir. The terrains for using the heavy construction equipment on will consist of cobbles, boulders, trees, and brush, with water being encountered on most of the projects. The contractor will be responsible for routine emergency maintenance on each piece of equipment during the rental/leasing period. The Contractor must have an authorized repair service within 100 miles of the job site and the equipment must be a maximum of 3 years old or newer. All equipment must meet the applicable SAE, OSHA, and Reclamation Safety requirements. Equipment must have an enclosed cab unless otherwise agreed upon prior to rental/leasing. The equipment will include CAT or equal Hydraulic Excavator with booms, Track Loaders, Track-Type Tractor, Articulated Truck, Wheel Loader, 2000 Gallon Water Truck, Motor Grader and 20 Ton Dump Trucks. Work is under NAICS Code 532412 (Formally SIC Code 7353). This solicitation will be available in hard paper copy only approximately November 1, 2000. Cost for the solicitation is $10.
