Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to purchase on a sole source basis 500 each of DATEL P/N TWR-5/1000-15/200-D12A. This item will be purchased on a Limited Source Basis from the manufacturer or their authorized reseller. DATEL is the only known manufacturer of this item. These components requested are the same components used when developing the prototype battery boxes for the Ship ACADA portable chemical agent detector. Use of components from other manufacturers affect the design and performance of the battery box requiring additional testing to verify that the battery box is operating within the required thresholds. Additional testing would increase the cost of Ship ACADA significantly. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures -- Reference Quote N00178-01-Q-3003.
