- Description
- National Technology Alliance (NTA) Division, Research and Technology Office, Acquisition and Technology Directorate, National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA). This announcement is a request for information only and is not a request for proposals nor an indication that NIMA intends to contract for enabling critical technologies at this time. The NTA is a government program that was established in 1987 with a mission to influence commercial and dual-use technology development with an emphasis on meeting national security and defense needs. Critical technologies of interest to the NTA include data storage, telecommunications, networking, information processing (data mining, knowledge management, data fusion) multimedia, imagery and geospatial sciences, and nuclear/biological/chemical sciences as well as material sciences supporting these critical technologies. The National Imagery and Mapping Agency is the Executive Agent for the NTA program and intends to issue a Broad Area Announcement for its support in spring 2001. This announcement is part of the market research to identify what companies and universities specializing in one or more of the above technology area(s) may be interested in participating in the NTA program. Responses to this RFI should contain pertinent organizational information, including a point of contact, phone number, and email address. A one-page (double sided) organizational profile sheet identifying primary technology capabilities and accomplishments may be submitted. Additional information such as marketing pamphlets will be accepted. Any information marked proprietary will be treated accordingly. Responses to the RFI should be mailed to National Imagery and Mapping Agency, 12310 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA, 20191-3449, Mailstop: P-65, Attn: Leslie Vandivere. On 28 November 2000, an informational meeting will be hosted by NIMA in the Washington, D.C. area for parties wishing additional information regarding the NTA, its mission and our critical technology areas. Organizations wishing to participate in this informational meeting are limited to two representatives and should respond not later than 17 November 2000. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Details regarding this informational meeting will be posted on the NIMA web site at http://www.nima.mil/poc/contracts/contracts.html.
