Description
The U.S. Army, TACOM-RI, Rock Island, IL is seeking sources for Sliding Gap Bed Engine Lathe. The requirements of the Sliding Gap Bed Lathe is as follows: 1. The required machine is a general-purpose type, sliding bed lathe. 2. The lathe shall have a swing over the closed bed of no less than 19 inches, a swing over the cross slide of no less than 12 inches and a swing in the gap of no less than 36 inches. 3. The distance between centers shall be no less than 30 inches on a closed bed and no less than 50 inches with the bed open. 4. The lathe shall be manually operated with inch-metric hand dials. A digital readout may be provided in place of inch-metric dials. 5. The lathe shall meet Industry Standards for accuracy as stated in ANSI and ISO Standards. 6. Spindle noses, chucks, and other tooling provided shall meet or exceed ANSI standards and shall be compatible with U.S. standard tooling. 7. The lathe shall operate on 230/460-volt, three-phase, 60-hertz electrical power, with a NEMA standard motor of no less than 7-1/2 horsepower. 8. If you have/sell Sliding Gap Bed Lathes that meet the requirements stated above, please provide your commercial literature on the product along with prices and any minimum order quantity. Also provide information on discount terms, price breaks, warranties, delivery terms and any testing performed. 9. Please identify any requirements stated above that you feel are unduly restrictive which would either restrict effective competition or prohibit commercial items as defined in FAR 2.101. 10. Funds are not presently available for this potential acquisition. It should be noted that this is NOT a Request for Proposal; the purpose of the sources sought notice is to seek commercial sources that will meet the U.S. Government's requirement.
