Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command is soliciting proposal on a full and open competition basis from qualified firms to award a contract for Racks, Storage, Small Arms, for the M1014 Benelli Shotgun. There shall be two configurations of the small arms rack. One configuration, 407 each, shall securely store a minimum of ten (10)shotguns. The external dimenitions of the ten shotgun configuration is: height 42.47 inches, width 36.25 inches, depth 10.00 inches, tolerance: +/- 0.02 inches. The weight of the ten (10) shotgun small arms rack (without weapons) shall not exceed 200 pounds. The second configutation,100 each, shall securely store a minimum of five (5) shotguns. The external dimensions of the 5 shotgun configuration is: height 42.47 inches, width 18.124 inches, depth 10.00 inches, tolerance: +/- 0.02 inches. The weight of the five (5) shotgun small arms rack (without weapons) shall not exceed 125 pounds. The small arms rack(s) must hold and restrain all stored weapon(s) snuggly without damage to the weapon or marring of the weapons finishes while in storage, shipping, or during insertion or removal of the weapon from the rack. The small arms rack(s) shall provide adequate weapon security using mechanism(s) and lock(s) to prevent unauthorized removal of a complete weapon or disassembly of a weapon to remove primary parts of a weapon. Weapon primary parts are defined as the barrel, receiver group, fore end and butt stock. The small arms rack shall be capable of using padlocks specified in OPNAVINST 5530.13B Appendix G as the locking device. The small arms rack shall be stackable both horizontal and vertical with fastening points to secure racks to one another and to floors and walls. It shall be capable of supporting its own weight when fully loaded plus that of another loaded small arms rack stacked vertical on top of it. Both shotgun configuration small arms racks shall be compatible with the M16/M16A1 Small Arms Storage Rack to the degree to allow random stacking of storage racks in any vertical or horizontal configuration. Both small arm racks shall have the capability of interfacing with the M16/M16A1 small arms storage with fastening points that mate to those on the M16/M16A1 small arms rack. Frame assembly, top, angle, and base drawings will be provided as government furnished information for the M16/M16A1 small arms storage Rack. A M1014 Benelli shotgun will be provided as government furnished material.
