Description

A-U. S. Dept of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Services (NOS), National Geodetic Survey (NGS), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Jason W. Woolard, Silver Spring, MD. to provide services as a Remote Sensing Research Engineer. The contractor shall be responsible to provide support for the Coastal Mapping Program, Aeronautical Survey Program, and Coast and Shoreline Change Analysis Program. The Contractor shall maintain a familiarity with a wide range of remote sensing technologies and software packages. The Contractor shall stay abreast of research literature in the application of GPS, LIDAR, radar, multi and hyperspectral data, and photogrammetry to the programs of RSD. Must maintain expertise in the IDL Language, and the ENVI and ERDAS Imagine image processing environments. The Contractor shall support the Remote Sensing Research program by performing maintenance on the Sun Workstations dedicated to the research effort. In support of the Coast and Shoreline Change Analysis Program the contractor shall perform georeferencing of various vector and image data to support the quick analysis of the accuracy and currency of this data. This is a notice of intent and cannot be considered a solicitation, therefore no solicitaton package exists. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisition procedures. Reference 01 1537
