- AMENDMENT 0001 to subject CDB Solicitation Notice 1. The purpose of this amendment is to answer a question from industry; provide a date and time for a ship check, and to extend the date and time for receipt of offers. A. QUESTION ONE: Where are the super-heater tubes being shipped from for the above referenced project, that we are to take delivery of ? B. ANSWER ONE: Under subject Solicitation, the majority of the superheater tubes whch will be supplied as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) are currently in storage at BATS (the Balboa Avenue Material Storage Depot). The remainder are on order and will arrive during the period of performance dates specified in the solicitation. All GFE will be supplied to the successful contractor pier-side at the USNS MERCY berth, 32nd Street Naval Station, San Diego CA. 2. The text of Section XII INSPECTION OF VESSEL / PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE, is hereby amended and replaced with the following: The USNS MERCY (T-AH-19) shall be available for inspection by offerors at Pier One, 32nd Street Naval Station, San Diego, California on Thursday, 19 October, at 1000 hours local time. A preproposal conference is not scheduled. Inspection of the vessel is not mandatory, and will be at the offeror's expense. All offerors who plan to inspect the vessel must be registered with the Contracting Officer No later Than 1600 Hours local time, Wednesday, 18 October. A listing of personnel attending must be e-mailed of faxed (619-553-7774) to the attention of the Contracting Officer (Mr. Rick Bauer). The list MUST incluide the persons name, social security number, date and place of birth, and any US Navy Security Clearances. Individuals will be required to carry laminated company picture ID's, signed by a company executive. All ship check attendees should assemble at the base of the USNS MERCY gangway no later than 0950 hours on Wednesday, 18 October. 3. The date and time for receipt of proposals, as listed in paragraph VI.(3) of the CBD Streamlined Solicitation for Commercial Items, is hereby extended. Offers are due no later than 1300 hours (local time), Tuesday, 24 October 2000. 4. All other terms and conditions of subject solicitation remain unchanged, and in full force and effect.
