Description
For clarification, it is determined that the chopped glass composite plastic would meet our needs at YBI. The re-bar lumber is not necessary. The chopped glass lumber should meet the following properties: Plastic shall be a mixture of one or more of the following thermoplastics: high density polyethylene and low density polyethylene with a minimum of 4.0 percent (by weight) No used or rebuilt structural elements shall be used in the fabrication of the plastic lumber. The minimum properties of the plastic shall be as follows: Density (ASTM D 792) -- 34-55 lb./cu.ft., Modulus of Elasticity -- 45,000 psi minimum, Compressive Strength -- 3,500 psi minimum, Ultimate Tensile Strength -- 500 psi minimum, Water Absorption -- Less than 3% water absorption in 24 hrs., Ultraviolet -- No more than 10% change in durometer after 500 hrs.
