Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Inspection Services (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), Accelerated Pseudorabies Emergency Program (APEP) intends to acquire euthanasia, rendering and transportation services in fifteen states to eradicate pseudorabies in an estimated 2,000 to 2,000,000 hogs. Infected herds requiring these services are located in CA, CO, ID, IL, IA, IN, MD, MI, MN, NC, NB, OH, OK, TX, VA and WI. Hogs/pigs have to be transported from the producers to the slaugther plants and from the slaugther plants to the rendering plants for rendering. Contract performance period is from January 1, 2001 through September 30, 2001 with a one-year option. This will be a requirements-type contract.
