Description

TACOM plans to acquire from United Defense L.P. 13 each M88A2 Hardware Kits for Egyptian Co-production of HERCULES Heavy Recovery Vehicles. The HERCULES is an armored, full tracked recovery vehicle capable of safely towing, recovering, and evacuating the Main Battle Tank and other heavy combat systems. It is anticipated that the proposed Egypt FMS requirement for 13 additional M88A2 Hardware Kits will be acquired via modification to the existing contract DAAE07-99-C-0001 with UDLP for 50 M88A2 Hardware Kits. This action is being initiated on a sole source basis with current HERCULES manufacturer: United Defense Limited Partnership, Ground Systems Division, Post Office Box 15512, York, Pennsylvania 17405-1512. The formal offer due date is expected to be on or about 15 Feb 01. Drawings are not available. This synopsis is for subcontracting possibilities. See Notes 22 and 26.
