Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Lexington, KY intends to negotiate non-competitively with Radio Communications Systems, Lexington, KY, to furnish/install the following FCC approved equipment required to upgrade existing voice only paging system: (1) GLT 80311 Transmitter includes: 125 watt power, synthesized, AC powered, full duplexer, tone and voice, numeric, alpha numeric with 50B gain Omni antenna, and surge protection TELCO & AC.; (2) Zeetron Model 2200 Terminal includes: 1000 pager capacity, voice prompts, wide area capable, nurse call alert, CAN capable, alpha, T&V, numeric; (3) Model 66 Zeetron (ties TX'R & Terminal); and (4) Maintenance package (spare boards) complete. The total system supports utilization of voice, numeric and alpha pagers. The terminal will provide prompts advising the caller of type of pager being paged and will allow both in-house and outside access. The total system is to include optimization and propagation. Installation, including 24/7 service, support and training, required by local authorized experienced Motorola Service Facility. If same or equal items are available from another source, furnish product information and literature with proposal to this office no later than November 14, 2000. The determination to open competition based on information received is solely at the Government's discretion.
