- Description
- Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform repairs to the Wharf at the U. S. Coast Guard Corpus Christi Harbor Facility. The work includes replacing deteriorated sections of nine (9) timber piles, replacing the protective plastic wrap on 104 timber piles and replacing deteriorated timber bracing members in two bents. The estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1629, with a three-year average annual receipts small business size standard of 27.5 million. Performance time is 90 calendar days. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. Those who have previously requested this project under the Presolicitation Notice , posted on 10/04/00, do not need to request again. The request for a bid package must be submitted in writing and can be faxed to: (305) 278-6696. For: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises : The Department of Transportation ( DOT) Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSBDU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
