Description

The Heavy Dry Support Bridge (HDSB) Production Contract was recently awarded to Williams Fairey Engineering, Ltd.(WFEL) of the United Kingdom. The U.S. Army now desires to modify the existing HDSB contract (DAAE07-00-C-L032) by increasing the level of provisioning documentation to facilitate assignment of National Stock Numbers to system components. Since WFEL is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and retains proprietary rights for the design of parts, this provisioning effort is restricted to WFEL per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Award to sources other than WFEL would result in substantial duplication of costs to the Government, as well as unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements.
