Description
The work consists of the contractor carrying out a juvenile salmon outmigration study on the Stanislaus River for the outmigration year 2000-2001. This study is intended to complement, and provide a comparason to, outmigration studies done prior to this effort. Two rotary screw traps (RSTR) will serve as the primary points of recovery for migrating juvenile salmon. The effort will provide a greater understanding of the factors affecting juvenile salmon production in the Stanislaus River, and help to refine future efforts towared this end. General objectives of this work are: continue to evaluate patterns and magnitude of salmoid outmigration from the Stanislaus River, evluate the relationship between flow and other environmental variables and salmonid outmigration, and continue to refine an existing, or develop an alternative, model of trap efficiency to assist in developing indices of salmonid production and survival. The period of performance is one base year, with 4 one year options to renew. The approximate issue date is 10/30/00. The issue date is an estimate. Proposals will be due 30 days from the actual issue date.
