Description

The USCG MLCP in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for Dockside Repairs on the USCGC ALEX HALEY (a 282' medium endurance cutter) homeported in Kodiak, AK. Work will be performed during the period of 12 March through 27 April 2001 at cutter's homeport. Work includes; QAWTD to bow thruster room installation, tanks clean and inspect, number 3 torque shaft and bearing housing repair, controllable pitch propeller head tanks cleaning, vent casing and stack space cleaning, misc valve manifold overhauls, emergency diesel fire pump fuel piping renewal, lube oil fill piping modifications, vent fan motor overhaul, SSDG exciters overhaul, dishwasher renewal, chilled water system clean and inspect, windlass tubing renewal, evaporator system triennial overhaul, port steering ram re-chrome, deck stowage locker modification and temporary services. In accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program an RFP (request for proposal) will be issued OOA 17 Nov 2000. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, The Department of Transportaiton (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
