Description

Drydock and Repair, NOAA Ship OREGON II, to be performed at the contractor's facility. Performance period to commence approximately February 16, 2001, and shall be completed on or before April 9, 2001 (53 calendar days). Basic contract items will include Sea Valve Overhauls, Underwater Body Coating, Zinc Anode Renewals, Steel Plate and Superstructure Repairs, Ground Tackle Inspections, and others. There will also be four option items such as Engine Room Supply Ducting Renewals, Paint Locker Modifications, Forward Storage Area fabrication and New Head/Shower Installation. Vessel's homeport is Pascagoula, Mississippi. Foreseeable costs will be calculated from Pascagoula, MS for evaluation purposes. Vessel will be available for inspection December 18-20, 2000 at the Gulf Marine Support facility in Pascagoula, MS. Characteristics of NOAA Ship OREGON II: Length Overall -- 170 feet -- 0 inches; Length BP 158 feet -- 0 inches; Beam (Molded) -- 34 feet -- 0 inches; Draft, Baseline to DWL -- 14 feet -- 0 inches; Draft, above molded keel at midships to DWL -- 12 feet -- 6 inches; Displacement, to DWL -- 893 LTSW; Displacement, normal full load departure -- 974 LTSW; Displacement, Lightship -- 694.58 LT; Propulsion -- Diesel, single screw, Bird Johnson CPP, two each Caterpillar 3512 DITA JW propulsion engines, Lufkin Reduction Gear and one each, Hundested SFT 5,250 HP Bow Thruster at 1800 RPM; Cruising Speed -- 10 knots; Electric Service -- Twin Caterpillar 3408/SR4 Diesel Generators, 245KW, 450-480 VAC, 4 wire, 3 phase, 60 Hz, 200 Amp Normal Service Load without Deck Machinery.
