PART: U.S. GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENTS SUBPART: SERVICES CLASSCONE: V -- Transporttion, travel, and Relocation Services SUBJECT: V -- Container Fleet Management DUE: 3 November 2000 Sources Sought: Container Fleet Management Request for Information: the United States Army, Military Traffic Managemnt Command (MTMC), is requesting information on conainer fleet management. The Logistics Management Institute (LMI) will represent MTMC in its search for available information. MTMC may, at its discretion, choose not to outsource container management, choose to partially outsource, or choose to entirely outsource. The scope of responsibility for the container management provider includes, but may not be limited to the following: providing containers and shipping thereof for military installations worldwide; tracking and tracing of containers, potentially their cargo; and providiing consolidated billing of services. MTMC's container inventory is roughly 20,000 containers, with similar number of 20,000 container moves occurring per year. The provider must be capable of providing the information technology infrastructure necessary to track the containers and consolidate the billing process. Additionally, the provider must avail containers to military installations and subsequently ship the containres worldwide.
