Description

OCEAN ISLE BEACH NOURISHMENT, OCEAN ISLE BEACH, BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA. Work consists of DREDGING material from Shallotte Inlet on the east end of Ocean Isle Beach and depositing it on the beach at Ocean Isle to construct a beach berm and dune project. The beach segment is approximately 17,150 feet in length with various widths and elevations required. Approximately 1.7 million cubic yards of material are to be dredged using an ocean-certified pipeline dredge. Estimated cost range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Advertising date is scheduled for 6 December 2000 with bid opening on or about 4 January 2001. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ON CD-ROM AND WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AND SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed paper hard copy form. Amendments will be made through either a 3.5" diskette, CD-ROM, or hard copy. The CD-ROM contains simple window viewing application and two (2) commercial software applications. All applications contained on the CD-ROM can be run from the CD-ROM. No installation is required. The recommended minimum software requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows95 or Windows NT. All Bid Forms, Bid Bonds, and other normal documents required for bid submittal shall be in a paper medium. Electronic medium for bid submittal SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED.
