Description
This project consists of combining four (4) barracks rooms into a single apartment in the BOQ (Bldg. 54) at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska. The Summary of Work includes, but is not limited to: providing all materials (except as noted), supplies, equipment, transportation, and labor to remodel the four existing rooms (rooms 202, 203, 206, and 208) into a single apartment that includes a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and living area. New walls, doors, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical are included items of work, as well as incidental work to fur out and insulate walls, replace ceiling tiles, install appliances, and minor fire detector work as well. All work is required for a complete and usable facility. This will require: demolition of the existing walls, doors and frames (doors and frames to be salvaged and reused); purchase of new bathroom fixtures, cabinets, stove, refrigerator, and other kitchen fixtures. Remodeling includes: construction of new wall framing and installation of gypsum wall board; reinstallation of doors, frames and trim; purchase of new doors, frames and trim; installation of new bathroom sink, shower stall, vanity and countertops, kitchen sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, range and range hood; miscellaneous plumbing for the above; removal and replacement of carpet and pad; and replacement of acoustical ceilings. Electrical work includes installation of feeder circuits, lighting, switches, and receptacles. Phone and fire alarm systems must also be installed. Estimated cost of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Performance period is 45 days. SUBMITTALS DUE UPON AWARD. Contractor shall comply with the requirements of all applicable OSHA regulations and Coast Guard Safety Regulations. ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS ARE CONTAINED IN STATEMENT OF WORK THAT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH REQUEST FOR QUOTE DOCUMENTS. A SITE VISIT will be held approximately two (2) weeks prior to solicitation due date. Location: U.S. Coast Guard, Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska. The proposed contract will be awarded under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation, which shall be considered. Solicitation package issue date is approximately November 9, 2000. Written quotes will be due on / about December 9, 2000.
