- Description
- Solicitation number PR-CI-00-11368, as previously posted in CBDNet on September 26, 2000 [Printed Issue Dated September 28, 2000], and previously amended in CBDNet on October 11, 2000 [Printed Issue Dated October 16, 2000], on October 17, 2000] [Printed Issue Date: October 19, 2000], and October 25, 2000, [Printed Issue Date: October 27, 2000] for procurement of a scotch marine type firetube package boiler, is further amended to add the following, additional, question and answer section: 1. Is the 15 psi steam operating pressure? A: The max. pressure of the steam would be 15 psi -- this is a standard spec. for low pressure steam boilers. Actual operating pressure will be lower because the steam will be condensed and returned directly to the boiler. The boiler supplier will need to supply the condenser system. 2.What will be the temp. & pressure of the oils? A: The temp and pressure of the oils at the High Bay building inside walls will vary somewhat. Both #2 and #5 oils will be circulated from the tank farm at conditions that will permit pumping at seasonal ambient conditions. The boiler supplier will need to provide connections from the fuel stubs at the wall location to the boiler's burner, including any pumps and heaters needed. Any heavier fuels, #6 etc., will be handled in drums and the boiler supplier will not need to provide anything for this activity. 3. Do you need boiler feed equipment, chemical feeders, oil tanks? A: Boiler feed water conditioning equipment need not be supplied. Oil tanks are not needed. 4. How wide is the access doorway/area to the boiler room? A: The roll-up doors to the High Bay building are 12 ft. wide and at least 12 ft. high.
