Description

(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) This solicitation is issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) 428-0002-01. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-20. (iv) This solicitation is open to small businesses and Large businesses under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 42172 with a size standard of 100 employees. Other forms referenced herein are required to be completed and submitted with all quotations. (v) The contractor shall provide unit price for the following: STAINLESS STEEL SHOWER COMPARTMENT: Part I -- General, 1.1 Sumary, A. Section includes stainless steel shower compartments. 1.2 References, A. ASTM A666 -- Standard Specification for Austenitic Stainless Steel Sheet, Strip, Plate, and Flat Bar. 1.3 Submittals: A. Shop Drawings: Indicate partition plan, elevation views, dimensions, details of walls, floor, and ceiling supports, B. Product Data: Submit data on panel construction, hardware, and accessories, C. Samples: Submit one 2 x 2 inch in size illustrating panel finish, and sheen, D. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate special procedures, perimeter conditions requiring special attention. Part II -- Products, 2.1 Stainless steel shower compartments, A. Manufacturers: 1. Willoughby -- Model Custom, 2. Metcraft -- Model Custom, 3. Substitutions Permitted, B. Product Description: floor and wall mounted, floor and wall braced. Four piece knockdown units, 2.2 Components, A. Stainless Steel Sheet: ASTM A666, Type 304, B. Shower Compartments: Stainless Steel, floor and wall mounted and braced. Four piece knockdown unit with floor, C. Panels, and Pilasters: Stainless Steel, pressure bonded to sound deadening core, formed and closed edges, mitered and welded corners ground smooth, 1. Panel Faces: 14 gage minimum, 2. Reinforcement: 18 gage minimum., D. Shower Compartment Dimensions: 1. Thickness: 36 inch, 2. Width: 36 inch, 3. Height: 80 inch., 2.3 Accessories: A. Shower controls: Symmons Hydapipe Model number 1-901 (no substitutions), B. Brackets: corrosion resistant stainless steel, C. Attachments, screws, and Bolts: Stainless steel, tamper proof security type. 1. For attaching panels and pilasters to brackets: Through-bolts and nuts; staineless steel tamper proof security type, D. Hardware: Stainless steel: 1. Security tamper proof, 2. 100 percent Silicon Sealant, 2.4 Factory Finishing, A. Stainless Steel Compartments: ANSI No. 4 polished satin finish, with grain (belting) running long dimension of component. Part 3 -- Execution: 3.1 Examination, A. Verify all measurements as indicated on shop drawings, B. Verify correct spacing of and between plumbing fixtures. Equal number of left and right fixtures., 3.2 Installation, A. Installation by owner, supply only contract. (vi) GENERAL: (Item number/description including size/quantity breakdown / total quantity & unit of issue) [1] Stainless Steel Shower Compartment, 36" Thick x 36" Wide x 80" High 32 Each (vii) The contractor has 120 calendar days after date of the award to deliver all material to the United States Penitentiary Allenwood, Route 15 (2 miles north of Allenwood), White Deer, Pennsylvania 17887. This is to be FOB: Destination.(viii) FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (OCT 2000) and the following clauses incorporated by addendum apply -- At paragraph (c), "Period of Acceptance of Offers," has been determined by the Contracting Officer to be non-applicable to this solicitation and is hereby removed in its entirety for the purpose of this requirement.; At paragraph (e), "Multiple Offers," has been determined by the Contracting Officer to be non-applicable to this solicitation and is hereby removed in its entirety for the purposes of this requirement; 52.204-6 Contractor Identification Number -- Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number (JUN 1999) (ix) The evaluation will be based on price and price related factors. Destination (NOV 1991). (xii) FAR Clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items (AUG 2000) and the following clauses apply to this clause -- 52.222-21 Prohibition of Segregated Facilities; 52.222-26 Equal Opportunity; 52.222-35 Affirmative Action for Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era; 52.222-36 Affirmative Action for Workers with Disabilities; 52.222-37 Employment Reports on Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era. **Deviation to 52.222-37 changes paragraph f to read as follows: "(f) Subcontracts.
