CONTRACT INFORMATION: This is Amendment No. 3 to BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT #DTRS56-00-BAA-0007, titled "Operator Fatigue Management Analytic Systems and Technologies to Forecast and Manage Fatigue and Ensure Alertness for Commercial Transportation Operators" for the U.S. Department of Transportation, Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA), Office of Contracts and Procurement, DMA-30, Room 7108, 400 7th St., SW, Washington, DC 20590 Requirement to Support the Department of Transportation's Program on Human Centered Transportation Research. Amendment No. 3 is hereby issued to further clarify the requirement and to advise offerors that this requirement is for Human Centered Research as it applies to commercial operators of transportation systems in the United States (U.S.). Proposals must address commercial operators of U.S. transportation modes or systems, e.g., truck, bus, rail, barge, pipelines, etc. It is strongly recommended that the proposed research be applicable to operators in more than one transportation mode or system. Please note, on August 29-30, 2000, the Department of Transportation sponsored a conference on "Partnering for Transportation Safety: Operator Fatigue Management", in Tyson's Corner, Virginia. The closing date for proposals, December 15, 2000 remains the same. Proposals (an original and nine (9) copies) are to be submitted to Ms. Cynthia D. Barzey, Contract Specialist, Research and Special Programs Administration, ATTN: DMA-30, 400 Seventh Street, S.W., Room 7108, Washington, D.C. 20590, not later than 4:00 PM, Eastern Time, 12/15/00.
