Description

Architect/Engineer Services to provide working drawings, specifications and cost estimate at 20%, 60% and 100% design stages for Replace Air Handling Unit #3. Work involves replacing the existing air handling unit with a new unit consisting of VAV boxes. The project will also provide variable speed drives, economizer units to automatically set the optimum ratio of outside air and return air, new piping and electrical feeds, and energy management system controls. All work to be performed for this project must meet all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA); National Electric Code (NEC); Underwriters Laboratory Inc. (UL); Federal, State and Local regulations and codes; and JCAHO standards and guidelines. Design to be accomplished using AutoCad Release 14 or compatible format. Design and cost estimates to be in compliance with "Book 2, A/E Submission for Conceptual Drawings, Preliminary Drawings, Working Drawings and Cost Estimates to the VA" (green booklet). Site surveys to verify VAMC furnished drawings to indicate actual conditions and locations. All items and measurements of as-built drawings pertaining to this project must be verified by the A/E. Preliminary design drawings are not available for this project. Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. All interested firms are required to submit their SF 254 and SF 255 no later than close of business (4:30 PM) on November 27, 2000. Area of consideration is within a 50 mile radius of the medical center.
