Description
**PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION OF WORK SO YOU HAVE ALL OF THE NECESSARY INFORMATION** -- (NOTE: SELF-REGISTERING THROUGH http://ebs.poa.usace.army.mil WILL INDICATE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE -- YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE USUAL SOLICITATION CD.) The US Army Corps of Engineers intends to conduct an acquisition for new full stream Baghouses for each of the 6 operating boilers of the Central Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) located on Ft Wainwright, Alaska. Each Baghouse contains 5 modules of 100 bags each. The purpose of the project is to filter particulates out of the boiler emissions, reducing opacity, and allowing the CHPP to operate in full compliance with the opacity requirements of the Clean Air Act. The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking feedback from potential contractors, suppliers and industry experts on the draft solicitation documents. Potential offerors and suppliers are encouraged to ask questions related to these documents, and suggest methods of reducing project costs without impacting the overall project quality or established functional requirements. This process will help ensure the US Army Corps of Engineers and its selected construction contractor deliver a quality project at a reasonable price, with the required delivery schedule. This solicitation will be done through full and open competition. The final version of the RFP as well as related acquisition information will be released through electronic media. The estimated cost to complete this project is more than $10,000,000. The project schedule goal is to have a construction notice to proceed not later than 30 May 2001 and the baghouses fully operational not later than 30 September 2003. A PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN THE TALLEY CONFERENCE ROOM OF THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS ALASKA DISTRICT (2204 3rd St, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska) FROM 12:30 -- 5:00 PM ON 21 NOVEMBER 2000.
