- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 233220 and the small business size standard is $27.5 million. The acquisition is for Upgrade Baths & Lighting, Phase II, Lafayette Hall, Building 217, USCG Training Center, Yorktown, VA. The scope of the project consists of installing tile, painting, replacing toilets, sinks, showers, shower doors, plumbing, accessories, light fixtures, and incidental related work. Work includes a base bid item and an option. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or fax to Mrs. Cheryl P. Allen at cpallen@fdcclant.uscg.mil or (757) 852-3495 (fax). In your response include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contacts and telephone numbers; and, (c) a positive statement of your remaining bonding capability. Your response is requested by 08 November 2000. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
