- Description
- The United States Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM)Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (STCD) part of the Research Development and Engineering Center (RDEC) is soliciting for interested sources that have the ability to provide a downsized secure Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) cellular telephone network. This downsized network should consist of a base station that would provide transmit power of a minimum of 10 watts along with a Base Station Controlled and Mobile Switching Center, which would provide control of the Base Stations and would provide all call routing and processing capabilities. This network should be contained within two man-portable transit cases and be able to process 24 simultaneous phone calls. This CDMA network should have the capability to process Type I approved encrypted secure telephone calls. This equipment is required to support ongoing testing and evaluation ongoing within the RDEC STCD and will be used for future exercises and deployments that will be used to evaluate current leading edge technology. other Federal agencies and other defense agencies have also expressed interest in utilizing this equipment as part of their agencies evaluation of CDMA cellular technology. It is the intent of this command to enter into a three year Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for this equipment.
