Description

The US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal on behalf of the Office of the Program Manager, Small Arms (OPM-SM) is conducting a sources sought/market survey for 9mm and 5.56mm marking cartridges to support the Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) program. The program is designed to procure, test and field marking cartridges capable of being fired in the(9mm)/M9 Pistol and the 5.56mm weapon systems (M16/M4/M249) without major modifications to the weapon. The CCMCK cartridges shall perform to the same reliability of the standard service ammunition in 5.56mm and 9mm. The marking cartridges shall be available in at least two colors to allow force-on-force training. The marking cartridges shall consist of lead-free components to allow training within the temperature range of 20C to 40C. All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/ qualification data in regard to the above marking cartridges no later than close of business, 4 December 2000.
