- DESC: FAMILY OF MEDIUM TACTICAL VEHICLES PHASE I COMPETITIVE REBUY PROGRAM RELEASE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is planning to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) on approximately 01 December 2000 for the FMTV-Competitive Rebuy Program's Phase I Competitive Evaluation. This final solicitation will be posted to the TACOM Web at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/opportunity.htm. It will NOT be listed under the Major Systems heading, but in the general "Open and On-the-Street Solicitations" category. The Phase I Competitive Evaluation is for the evaluation and testing of Contractor proposed changes to the FMTV A1. Up to three contracts will be awarded for Phase I. Proposals will be due 15 Feb 2001 with a contract(s) awarded about 21 May 2001. Contractor modified Government Furnished vehicles will be due 10 months from award, followed by 7 months of Government testing. Phase II is designated as "Phase II Competitive Production Contract." This Phase includes evaluation of the Government testing from Phase I and of the proposals submitted for the competitive production contract for approximately 14,000 trucks and trailers (subject to approval and budgetary constraints). Phase II will be restricted to Contractors who have successfully completed a Phase I contract. A separate RFP will be issued for Phase II and a single contract will be awarded. A Draft RFP for Phase II will be released approximately June 2002, Final RFP release is scheduled for approximately September 2002 with an award approximately March 2003. Please note that solicitation DAAE07-01-R-S001 supercedes Draft RFP DAAE07-00-R-S103. Offerors who registered under the Draft RFP will be automatically registered for the Final RFP.
