Description

The USDA, Forest Serivce intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order with Metro Media Fiber Network, 8201 Greensboro Drive, Suite 700, McLean, Viriginia 22102 for the lease of two stands of dark fiber in a point-to-point configuration between the Yates Building (Washington, DC), The Rosslyn Towers (Arlington, VA), and Franklin Court (Washington, DC). Contractor is to provide the Forest Service access to two stands from contractor's existing facilities by adding a short segment between the Forest Service telecommunications facility at each site and the contractor's existing fiber network. The contractor is to manage all apsects of the installation including building access, route planing, and engineering. The dark fiber should be protected at the building termination point in an Optical Carrier Entrance Facility. The dark fiber characteristics should be single mode zero dispersion and/or non-zero dispersion shifted fiber as needed. Contractor is expected to provide 24x7x365 day service with monitoring, maintenance and repair for service interruptions to include a two-hour response to failures with four-hour maximum lapse time to full service restoration.
