- Description
- The National Security Telecommunications and Information Security Committee (NSTISSC) Information Assurance Working Group (NIAWG) Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Subgroup is soliciting information on commercially or privately available tools for use in automating NSTISSI 1000, the National Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (NIACAP). The NIACAP establishes the minimum national standards for certifying and accrediting national security systems. This process provides a standard set of security requirements, activities, general tasks, and management structure to certify and accredit systems that will maintain the Information Assurance and security posture of a system or site. The NIACAP is designed to certify that the Information System meets documented accreditation requirements and will continue to maintain accredited security posture throughout the system life cycle. This Request for Information (RFI) on currently available automated tools, to include modeling, software demonstrations, computer simulations, etc., will be used by the NIAWG C&A Subgroup to develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking the appropriate means to fully automate the NSTISSI 1000. Information on the availability of automated tools and models on Windows software for predictive environmental use within the NSTISSC member organizations and agencies is highly desired, especially IT software that allows simple use, embedded training and provides intuitive interagency interface for implementing the NIACAP. Companies that have previously developed tools to support the Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 5200.40, Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP), or other C&A processes, are especially encouraged to respond to this RFI.
