Description

17. The Engineer Research and Development Center requires engineering services for the operation of the Shock and Vibration Information Analysis Center (SAVIAC) and research services in the field of Shock and Vibration Technology. A draft statement of work has been posted to the Vicksburg District Consolidated Contracting Office homepage at http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/contract/ViewSolicitation.asp?ID=449 The basic center operations and core portion of this contract is anticipated to be cost-plus-incentive-fee. The Government's objective is to operate a world-class center of technical and analytic excellence in the area of shock and vibration that will generate income and result in a partially self-supporting information analysis center. The research portion of the contract will be performed via auxiliary tasks after issuance of cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders. A major portion of the Core Operations is the organizing and managing of the annual Shock and Vibration Symposia. This year the symposium will be held in Arlington, VA (Crystal City) from 6-10 November 2000. Prospective bidders may wish to attend the symposium. Symposium fees will not be waived. Symposium details are available on the web at http://saviac.xservices.com. Potential offerors may submit written comments on the draft statement of work. Consideration will be given to comments received in development of the final solicitation; however, no questions on the draft will be answered.
