Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, California intends to negotiate on a competitive basis a Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract for services to assist NAWCWD in the safe operation, troubleshooting, and modification of a contained combustion facility and its instrumentation for tactical rocket motor performance and combustion product characterization. Specifically, the technical support will include tasks in the areas of mechanical, chemical, and process engineering to accomplish all aspects of gas analysis, particulate analysis, and rocket motor performance measurement during restrained firings of tactical rocket motors. The contractor shall perform data acquisition, analysis, and reporting necessary to evaluate motor firings and assist NAWCWD to reconfigure the facility for subsequent firings. Confidential clearance required. The period of performance will be approximately 9 months. The solicitation will be a request for proposal to be issued on or about November 17, 2000.
