Description

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking potential sources for radio frequency wireless LAN technology. Prospective suppliers' products shall meet the following minimum requirements: Radio Frequency based in Unlicensed Band FCC Certified Compatible with: Novel client 3.2 or higher Windows 95/98/2000 Windows NT 4.71 or higher User interface with laptop PCMCIA Type II slots Minimum 128 bit Encryption Integrated Antenna on PCMCIA cards Access Point: Ethernet 802.3 Interface 100 Base-T connection / RJ45 Variable Output Power Software Configurable Locally and Remotely 110 volt A/C Software upgradeable by customer Minimum of 12 users per Access Point Minimum Throughput of 4Mbits Data Suppliers capable of providing these requirements shall submit product information which specifically addresses the salient characteristics identified herein. Please include a point of contact and information regarding product availability on the GSA Schedule. All information submitted in response to this Request for Information (RFI) shall be received no later than 11/20/00. Submit information to Mr. Arthur Lampros, FEMA OFM-RP, 500 C Street, SW, Washington, D.C. 20472. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and the Government will not pay or otherwise reimburse respondents for information submitted. Based upon responses received, the Government reserves the right to set aside any and all procurements that may result hereunder for small or minority-owned businesses. If the evaluation of responses received concludes that none of the responding firms have the necessary capabilities, FEMA shall pursue purchase of WaveLAN products via authorized resellers.
