Description

United Defense L.P. (UDLP) has been awarded a contract from the Army Office of Program Management (OPM), Crusader, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ for the development of the next generation Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and Resupply Vehicle (RSV). Spray cooling has been provisionally selected as the method to be used for thermal management of the Crusader electronics. This thermal management system has been identified as an area for subcontractor development and will include at this stage: Development of specifications and requirements for the spray-cool system Development of designs for spray-cool system hardware, and mechanical and thermal aspects of selected circuit card assembly enclosures with integral spray-cool provisions Development of an approach to measure and evaluate relevant technical risks Fabrication, assembly, and test of the spray-cool hardware and the enclosures The subcontractor shall support UDLP in the coordination of all activities leading to the successful integration into Crusader System of this thermal management system. A Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be released by 15 November 2000. The period of performance for this effort will be through 2002.
